Dayspring Dementia Training is a person-centred organisation, with an educational mission, and a specialist focus on the dementias.
Dayspring provides specialist, affordable training in dementia for professionals in many disciplines, including carers, nurses, occupational therapists, care home managers and others involved in the provision of front-line services. Our learning matters course is also adaptable to the needs of family caregivers. Courses are available in-house in mainland Scotland, and occasionally elsewhere in the UK, and by distance learning: we have students on five continents! In addition, we run occasional courses at our headquarters. |

The Salix Dementia Trust is a recognised Scottish Charity (SC032100) and a company limited by guarantee, which has offered variety of services to carers, people with dementia, and other interested parties.
We regret to announce that the Salix membership has voted that the Trust should cease operations, primarily due to a chronic shortage of active members. The committed and strenuous support of a dedicated few could no longer sustain our activities. If you are considering volunteering for a local organisation, please stop considering, and go and do it!
Dayspring Dementia Training will be taking over some of Salix's activities; others will cease; and some, we hope to see adopted by other organisations. This website will in due course be updated to reflect this new state of affairs, and to reflect some of what we have learned over our years of operation.
Our remaining funds will be used as agreed with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.

Both organisations hold the belief that all people have the right to a rich and full life no matter what their age, sex, colour, creed, disability or any other perceived difference. We firmly believe that this is possible for people with mild and moderate dementia!
